Living below the poverty line in Toronto

When I was an undergrad student, I lived below the poverty line in Toronto. I earned $700-$1500 a month working 1-4 part time jobs at a time, while putting myself through university and paying expensive downtown Toronto rent. It was a stressful, busy period but I grew a lot as a person and also lived a mostly vegan lifestyle. I’m sharing this story to dispel the myth that vegan food is expensive. Being mostly vegan helped me make ends meet, and I still continue to save a lot of money from being vegan today.
